NON-INDICATING SILICA GEL

Non-indicating silica gel is a form of silicon dioxide that has been processed into a hard, porous, bead-like structure. It is colourless or white in appearance and does not change colour when it adsorbs moisture, which is why it is described as “non-indicating.”
Its effectiveness comes from having extremely high internal
surface areas, which trap and hold significant amounts of
water vapour from the surrounding environment.

Because it is chemically inert, odourless and non-toxic,
non-indicating silica gel is widely used in everyday applications
where moisture control is important.

It is most commonly found in small sachets inside product packaging
to protect items such as electronics, textiles, leather goods
and pharmaceuticals, during storage and shipping.

But it is also used in many other industrial settings,
in much larger sachets and bags, to help prevent rust, mould,
or mildew caused by damp conditions.
